What to expect in the role

Collaborate with assigned customer stakeholders including but not limited to JPM GNOC, WTS team and New Era CSC to perform the following on site services: 

  1. IT Infrastructure Hardware (HW): 
    • Checking and troubleshooting 
    • Installation and decommissioning covering an incident 
    • Network patching of servers, switches, routers, and modems 
    • Network cable/ports checking and troubleshooting 
    • Remote Hands support as directed by JPMC
  2. Site survey
    • This service includes any and all undertakings required to collect and transmit the necessary information regarding network, server and storage devices within the Data Center. This includes the completion of an information checklist (to be provided by JPMC point of contact), taking necessary digital photographs, and transmitting completed site survey to JPMC team.
  3. Carrier Circuit Demarcation Extension
    • This service includes any and all tools, materials and labor to install up to a 150 foot demark extension. This includes either 4xCat6 or 2xCoax (DS3) cable extensions.
  4. Telecom Circuit Test and Turn-up Support
    • This service includes the test and turn-ups of circuits. Supplier technician will dial into pre-established conference bridge with JPMC contacts and carrier provider and add / remove loops for testing with the MER/TR/Colo as needed. Supplier’s technician will provide console access to data network device(s) and troubleshooting support as required by JPMC contact and carrier(s). 
    • This service does NOT include circuit extension from the demarcation point.
  5. Device Install/Decommission 
    • Includes the installation, and/or hot swap, de-installation of multiple devices all capable of being physically racked by a single technician (including routers, switches, modem, CSU’s, server and storage equipment). This task includes any, and all tools (including a digital camera), console cables, materials, equipment and time necessary to perform work. Service may include disconnect / reconnect / troubleshooting of devices. Service also includes all patching needs, initial configurations and asset tagging / labelling. 
    • This service includes taking digital photographs before and after work is completed. Pictures should include, but not be limited to patch panels, network equipment (including close ups of cabling and connections), rack views and room views. 
    • Supplier must complete a QA checklist and provide photograph(s) to JPMC team via a JPMC approved transmission methodology
  6. General Network Support
  7. Break/Fix
    • In coordination with JPMC team, respond to and address break / fix tickets for network, server and storage devices within MERs/TR/Colo. This task includes any and all tools including a digital camera, console cables, materials, equipment and time necessary to perform work. This includes calling in to a bridge or direct with the other JPMC teams
  8. Tape/Media Handling Disposal
    • The scope of services is all media (storage unit, tape, HDDs, etc.) handling within MERs/TR/Colo including, but not limited to: media backup and replication, media installation, media decommission / destruction, and media transport
    • This service includes oversight of 3rd party specialist destruction of any storage or tape units, but not performance of the actual destruction activity itself
    • This service includes taking digital photographs before and after work is completed. Supplier must complete a QA checklist and provide photograph(s) to JPMC via approved transmission methodology
  9. Logistics
    • This service is to coordinate shipping and receiving of equipment for install / decomm at a given MER/TR/Colo. This includes interfacing with JPMC and 3rd party shipper to verify shipment and receipt of MER equipment, tape, and media in support of services above
  10. Risk Assessment
    • This service includes any and all undertakings required to collect and transmit the necessary information regarding MER risks including access control, video surveillance, alarms, fire suppression, HVAC, temperature / humidity, asset tagging, tape / media presence, power, UPS, cabinet locks, etc. This includes the completion of risk assessment form (to be provided by JPMC point of contact), taking necessary digital photographs, and transmitting completed risk assessments to JPMC team.
  11. Patching
    • Installing/Removing an Ethernet/fiber patch cable to linking a computer to a nearby network hub, switch, router.
  12. Vendor Management
    • Provide a technician to attend a non-badged OEM & other Vendors who require access into STS JPMC spaces based on approved JPMC Ticket
  13. Surveys
    • This service includes all undertakings required to collect and transmit the necessary information regarding user & network information. This includes the completion of an information checklist (to be provided by JPMC Point of Contact), taking necessary digital photographs, and transmitting completed site survey to JPMC team

 

What we’re looking for

  • Ideally 3 Years’ experience in a similar role – Candidates must be able to demonstrate how their previous experience would enable them to fulfil the responsibilities outlined
  • Tertiary education or equivalent experience
  • Microsoft Qualifications or substantial, relevant experience in the management of Microsoft technologies 
  • Relevant CISCO networking qualification (CCNA/CCNP) OR substantial relevant experience in supporting Data Center Infrastructure environments 
  • Firewall / Load Balancing Technologies
  • Good communications skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to work under pressure
