Summary
This position will support the Tax Department with tax compliance, tax provision, audit defense, tax notices, tax research, annual reports, and other miscellaneous tax filings.
Responsibilities
• Assist with preparation of taxable income calculation workpapers and review of U.S Federal and state income tax returns. This is required to assist the Company with timely filing accurate income tax returns with various taxing jurisdictions.
• Preparation and/or review of various monthly and quarterly tax return filings (e.g., gross receipts tax, estimated income tax payments, commercial activity tax). This is required to keep the Company in compliance with its various tax filing obligations.
• Preparation and/or review of the quarterly and annual income tax provision(s) and related calculations in accordance with our internal controls framework. This is required to assist the Company with timely filing accurate financial statements with the Securities and Exchange Commission and complete the external audit.
• Collaborate closely with the existing team of business process associates, including taking on a role as a mentor and guide for junior members, and offering support and direction on their assigned domestic tasks.
• Preparation of annual reports for various jurisdictions as well as assisting with the preparation of other informational returns.
• Research and prepare recommendations on various tax and compliance issues. Preparation and review of tax notice responses and tax audit support. This is required to keep the Company in compliance with its various tax filing obligations and to address notices received from taxing authorities.
• Upholds the Crawford Code of Conduct
• Regular internal interaction with all Tax Department and Finance Division personnel; external interaction with municipal, county, state and federal tax personnel. Interaction is primarily to receive or exchange information. Decisions may require interpretation of regulations, consideration of more than one option or negotiation of outcomes.
